This is a perfect book for students to move onto after the initial Faber Adult Piano Adventures Book 1. Gentle, slow moving and largely diatonic, it starts pre-Grade 1, and slowly progresses through 24 peaceful ‘’Meditations’’, ending at the harder end of Grade 1.
A nice mixture of pensive and aesthetically pleasing tonal decisions are made throughout. Very easy to read and play due to the overwhelming diatonic nature of the music, this means the colour palette becomes a little tired by the end of the book, but otherwise a fine and extensive workbook for an adult learner moving out of the method book after the first few months, and would be a great addition to anyone’s collection for sight reading practice.
